Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

The calculator is designed to keep your job and pay figures private. Salary, hours, deductions, sickness, commute and work-cost figures entered into the calculator are calculated locally in your browser and are not sent to the website owner, Google Analytics or Google AdSense as calculator data.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to help fund the website and keep the calculator free to use without a subscription or paid results. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Google's use of advertising cookies can allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites.

Depending on your consent choices and applicable law, ads may be personalised or non-personalised. You can manage personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also learn more about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Consent and cookies

For visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland, the site uses Google's consent management platform to ask for the choices required for advertising and related technologies. You can consent, decline consent or manage your options. Where available, the site's “Privacy and cookie settings” control can be used to revisit those choices.

Optional analytics

The site may offer optional Google Analytics. Analytics is intended to measure general website usage such as visits, page views, scrolling and link interactions. The site's own analytics control does not intentionally send the salary, hours, deductions, sickness, commute or work-cost figures entered into the calculator to Google Analytics. If you decline optional analytics, the calculator continues to work normally.

Feature suggestions

If you use the “Suggest a feature” form, the suggestion text and any reply email address you voluntarily provide are sent to the website owner so the feedback can be read and, where requested, replied to. Calculator figures are not included in the feedback submission.

Local browser storage

The site may store small preference values on your device, for example your analytics choice. Google and its advertising partners may also use cookies or similar identifiers in connection with advertising, subject to your consent choices and applicable law.

Third parties

Google and other authorised advertising technology providers may process information in connection with ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and related advertising purposes. The European regulations consent message provides further information about participating ad technology providers and the purposes for which consent may be requested.

Your choices

You can decline optional analytics and use the calculator normally. Where Google's European regulations message applies, you can also decline advertising consent or manage individual options. Browser settings can additionally be used to delete or block cookies, although doing so may affect some website features.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the site's features, analytics or advertising arrangements change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
